Dr. Michael Buck is the founder of Analyze IT Health. His expertise include healthcare analytics, health information exchange, clinical research informatics, EHR pay-for-performance initiatives, syndromic surveillance, clinical decision support, and small-practice EHR implementation.
Dr. Buck completed his PhD in Biomedical Informatics at the University of Utah, School of Medicine and his postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University. His work has received a number of awards including the 2012 1st place Innovator Award featured in Healthcare Informatics magazine, the 2011 HIMSS Public Health Davies Award of Excellence, and the 2011 Best Application Serving the Public, New York City Excellence in Technology Awards Program.
Dr. Buck worked as the SVP of Clinical Informatics for Health Catalyst. He managed multiple development teams responsible for building a next-generation clinical knowledge infrastructure including standardized FHIR-inspired data marts, a clinician-friendly ruleset GUI builder and dashboard reporting solution.
Dr. Buck also worked as the Senior Director of Biomedical Informatics for the Primary Care Information Project in the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. He was also an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Columbia University.
